Kupp

Kupp
Deceiving news coming out of Los Angeles today as Cooper Kupp will not be placed on injured reserve. The Los Angeles Rams have placed 8 players on IR already this month, meaning they have reached their cap. This could ultimately be the reason why Kupp wasn’t placed on IR, not because his ankle injury was less severe than originally thought.

Kupp was rolled up on by a Cardinals defender in Sunday’s loss. Kupp left the field for testing and then returned later to test it out for a play before heading back off the field and never returning. Based on the mechanism of injury from the replay a high ankle sprain is the most likely diagnosis. This means Kupp is sure to miss at least the next couple weeks.

To end on a positive note for Kupp, this injury was the first of note to his left ankle. Kupp has an extensive history including surgery on his right ankle so avoiding an injury on that side should be viewed as a relief.
